The Necessity of Purlin Braces With Steel Structures that are Pre-Engineered
Sufficient linkage of the eave and ridge ends is essential for effective purlin bracing inside pre-engineered steel systems. A conventional building technique, sag angle or strapping with simple parallel lines, does not necessarily stop buckling and collapse of the technique.
Every line of purlin bracing needs to be fastened to a sturdy ridge angle or a channel at the ridge. To assist with counteraction to the pressure caused by the accumulated force of bracing from a double-sloped rooftop is why this is crucial. It is not suitable to just place a basic sag angle along the ridge.
